Past Tense

All the verbs are in the past because the story describes something that already happened:

  • صحيت (ṣaḥyat) = she woke up

  • لبست (libsat) = she wore

  • راحت (rāḥat) = she went

  • شربت (shirbat) = she drank

In spoken Arabic, adding “-at” (ـت) at the end of the verb usually marks feminine past (she).
